Using old batteries
« on: March 19, 2025, 05:49:48 PM »
Well, I guess this will fall under the category of dumb questions and annoy some but here goes,

I always wondered, suppose you have some old 6 volt batteries that drop to 4 volts or less immediately under load, and so you wired 3 in series but only charged the bank of 3 to 14.4 and assuming the set of 3 is not part of any other bank but only used for low wattage lighting, would this be of any use?

Go ahead, let me have it...

Well if the option is nothing why not give it a shot, not like you'll lose any thing trying!

IF they're lead acid or SLA;s I with XeonPony, do it!
NiCD or NiMH is a different beast , as after some use they could very well come back to full power levels.
We are curious about the LV lighting setup. strings of LEDS?
Also what are you using to charge them up ?

Cheers
