Wire size and charge controller
« on: May 18, 2013, 11:25:18 PM »
I'm new to the wind generator systems.
After saying that.
I bought a Garbo Gen from Jerry a few years ago and did not install it.
Now I'm ready to install it at my cabin.
My questions are.
1-what size wire should I use.
It has 2 wires going out of the generator head and will run now more than 150 ft of wire.
2-what charge controller should I use.
3-do I need a switch to divert the current once the battery's are charged or will the charge controller do the job?

number 2 al is your  best buy.out put is going to be so small that a charge controller  or diversion wont really be needed.tune the battery bank size to get a tolerable match.

Run it up if you haven't already and get some numbers  AC out .  From the VA you can match your controller . I'm pretty sure Jerry hacked the stator to get in the 50 volt range at moderate wind speeds . Is there a tower up ?
