Engineers without borders
« on: October 21, 2008, 02:57:57 PM »
I've reciently been working with the Engineers without borders who are interested in developing the Lenz2 turbine for countries that don't have access to electric.  They will be developing a simple system that will provide about 50 watts or so for LED lighting and battery charging.

Also, they ( Joe Elkayam ) made a submission to the Google 10^100 contest which will be judged by the people in the comming months.   A Youtube video can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsTyhF-hACQ .  They only allowed a 30 second movie so there is alot of information packed into it to get the point across.

This is primarily a non-profit organization so all the funding will go directly into the turbines and implementation.  They will also be setting up small shops in villages to help create jobs in thier areas by building these turbines themselves with materials available to them.

A little energy can go a long way !
