I can only create new threads.

I'm using IE 8 on Windows XP. I have all of the latest IE updates. The 'preview' and 'post' buttons on the reply page don't seem to do anything when I click them. There must be an error in the HTML for that page.

I am using firefox and albeit a bit slow at times it has never not posted, it also lets you back out of sites that like to hang onto your PC..

Hey guys:

Did you make any other changes than upgrading the software on a single server?

Did you move to a new ISP?

Do you have multiple servers? A cacheing backup server? Is there a chance one of 'em doesn't have the same version of the software as the other(s)? Is there a load-balancer distributing requests among multiple servers?

The reason I'm asking: The foulups look like an issue of bad coordination between multiple servers. In such a situation a request works right or not depending on which server tries to process it. That would explain the sometimes long replies, claims of "can't handle this request because the software is being updated", display of wrong pages (confused master/slave communication), etc.

I was finally able to post after using a different browser. I use Google's Chrome and it appears to work great. (And its small enough to not be a pain to download) http://www.google.com/chrome

Be carefull with Chrome, it has some security issues

I think the problem is the post a reply page has a html bug thats upsetting IE. Its a bad address in the post detail of the form, and when you click the Preview or Post button, IE wont process the page because it considers the post to address invalid. With something like 50% of users using IE, its something the forum admins will have to sort out soon I think.

Firefox works OK, its ignoring the bad HTML.

I'm using firefox 2.0.0.8 and 3.0.14. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it's broken.

(And a 'way old mozilla at home ditto.)

I don't think it's JUST the browsers.

Hi everybody! I have the same problem, can't post replies but it's when using IE 8. I read the board on my free time at work and they have IE.

Here at home I use Firefox and it works OK.

I do get the "upgrading" message quite often regardless of which browser I'm using.

Any how..I hope you guys can sort it out. It won't stop me from visiting the board though...

No way. really? Like when the posts that say "THE FORUM IS BROKEN " approach 50% of the actual content, you think that it's not just the browsers huh?

You know what's really discouraging? When I see forum members bust their arse to help fixing the thing, and they get shown the hand and a "maybe later" attitude.

I guess the Admin are doing their best, but when you're driving down the road with a blown-out head gasket, a transmission that wont shift into second or fourth gear, a busted windshield, and four bald tires, maybe its time to quit patching up the old Scoop car and get into something a little newer and a little more reliable.. Especially when there are scores of people depending on you.
